Remote assessment
As an exciting new development we’ve started using technology to reach people who need more support and may not be able to travel to visit us.
We call this our Remote Assessment service. If you call AbilityNet for an assessment you will be referred to one of our consultants and, if it seems appropriate and you have broadband access and a computer at home, we may be able to help you remotely. We can access your computer and ‘see it’, changing font sizes, slowing down the mouse etc., so that it suits you better. The consultant may suggest you should try some specialist equipment or software and we have a small ‘loan bank’ for clients to try before they buy.
Feedback from clients to date has been 100% positive.
"We both enjoyed working with AbilityNet and found the webcam and remote monitoring a very effective method of helping. Brilliant."
It’s all part of making our services operate more efficiently and responding more quickly to your needs. As with all our free services the volumes we can offer depend on funding.
